Feels like I just got off a crazy rollercoaster. 🤯🎢
We’ve had our ups and downs. Sometimes uphill—slow and steady. Other times flying down into chaos and changing directions. Scary and super exciting.

But the best part? Sharing this ride with awesome people.
Their high fives kept me going uphill.
Hype talks and teamwork helped on the downs.

70 months ago, a guy called me with a French accent and invited me to join this ride.
Ah, oui, oui! Zis will be magnifique fun! 😆
And he didn’t lie. I wasn’t bored for a single day.

We started with just three of us in a small room,
full of crazy ideas and excitement,
building a whole new team and business for Decathlon in Ukraine.

I thought I knew everything with my ten years of e-commerce experience at the time.
But Decathlon slapped my ego like a mosquito 🦟👏 at a picnic. :)
I went from a “know-it-all” to an “I-know-nothing-but-I-will-learn” mindset.
It’s the best thing that could happen to anyone. Isn’t it?
I’m so happy to keep this mindset until now, learning each day.

Decathlon’s values clicked with me from the beginning.
You cannot receive so much freedom, trust, and responsibility at any other giant company.

I never felt I HAD to work.
It was like getting paid to do what I love: sports, e-commerce, teamwork, and learning (Jackpot!).

We were happiest when we opened the first Decathlon store in Ukraine and received the first online order.
We were the saddest when a Russian missile destroyed one of our stores in Odesa.

From three people and the first online order six years ago to 60 people in the Digital Team and 100+ in logistics managing over a million orders per year for our awesome customers.
Wow, how things have changed!

I wanted to remember all the details of my last day at Decathlon, so I made a short video.

P.S. The song I used in the video became one of my favorites after arriving in Czechia. They sang it at every party. 🕺
