I am happy to share with you another innovation implemented in DECATHLON Česká republika – Electronic Price Labels.
Waving goodbye to outdated paper price tags and boosting operational efficiency with these small electronic screens (on photo) with price and product information.
Why did we do this?
1️⃣ REAL-TIME UPDATES
These price tags exchange data with our database every 30 minutes.
2️⃣ TECH-DRIVEN EFFICIENCY
Previously, when the prices of goods changed, our store team had to print them on a printer, cut the paper and change them throughout the store. But that is in the past, because we believe that such work is a matter of technology. Thanks to it, we want to save 14,000 man-hours of low-value-added work. And redirect this time to customers.
3️⃣ ENHANCED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Tap the tag with your phone (NFC magic!) for in-depth product details, photos, videos, and even online ordering options.
4️⃣ SMARTER BUSINESS:
Customers who use NFC functionality choose the product more consciously and with a higher conversion rate. Also such customers are more autonomous when choosing a product and require less attention from store assistants.
5️⃣ ECO-CONSCIOUS WIN:
Less paper waste for price tags aligns with our commitment to sustainability.
Last year, our IT team launched a pilot project in the first store.
This year we are scaling the success in 8 more Decathlon stores.
You can find more information about the project on the page of the project leader Jan Maděra.
Thoughts? :)
Have you seen these in action in our Praha-Zličín store?
