Interesting story, I didn’t know about one of the first financial bubble.
In the early 1700s, a man named John Law had a big idea. He convinced the French government to let him create the Mississippi Company. People thought it would bring endless wealth from Louisiana, a French colony. Shares in the company grew quickly, and everyone rushed to buy them.

But the dream of gold turned out to be fake. The company’s stock prices kept rising, and people believed they were going to get rich. Law introduced paper money to support the rise in stock. But the money wasn’t backed by anything real. In 1720, people realized the truth: there was no gold in Louisiana. The stock market crashed, and many investors lost everything.

This financial disaster didn’t just affect investors – it hurt the whole country. It added to France’s massive debt and deepened the people’s distrust in the government.
