How I fell in love with E-commerce
Back in 2007, I was crazy and inexperienced enough to launch a startup in the E-commerce field. We set up a simple website, clicked the green button, and started waiting. The next day, we received an order, and it was an endorphin bomb for me. Out of nowhere, a person appeared who trusted us with his money for a product we didn’t have. I jumped on a bus and went to the warehouse to buy cable (or something?) for the customer. Seeing trucks loaded with products from other stores made me realize that E-commerce was no longer just an idea; it was a booming industry. Since then, I have fallen in love with E-com. I worked on various projects, from personal startups to international organizations. But I still feel a slight thrill when receiving a notification 🔔DING You have a new order.
Decathlon
Decathlon played a key role in shaping my career expertise and mindset.
I started working at Decathlon Ukraine when it was a startup with three people on board. We launched a serious business in Ukraine and impacted hundreds of thousands of people, making sports equipment and clothing accessible to them.
My time at Decathlon ended after 6 years. Last years in the company I was involved on a much larger project, Decathlon Czech Republic. I was on the board of directors as Chief Digital Officer, responsible for country digital strategy and digital sales.
My direct team consisted of 60 people across seven departments, supported by over 100 logistics staff. We shipped over a million parcels each year, showing the scale and success of our operation.
More about me:
- I am obsessed with Customer Experience
- Pure sense is always priority for me in decision making.
- My curiosity push me to learn everyday from trainings, YouTube, colleagues, by asking hundreds of questions.
- Critical thinking. I trust only data (if I trust the source of data 😏)
- Working in flat and self-organizing structures with awesome people in an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial mode is something I genuinely enjoy. I believe intelligent, professional and creative people do not need control if they are responsible and accountable. They need direction, sense and motivation.
- I have range of skills, including digital strategy and transformation, team management with expertise in Agile methodologies, proficiency in online marketing, product management, data analysis, understanding of logistics, and financial fields.
- Artificial intelligence and Ecological approach of doing business capture my interest today.
